New Year Party at the Safehouse

On the West Coast, it's not quite New Year yet, but Locke is hanging out at the Safe House with a few packs of Kirin Beer and hanging out. It's not the biggest deal for him, but it's kind of fun to watch the fireworks go off and this way he doesn't have to dodge drunks who might run him over or worse, compel him to punch the shit out of them. Right now he's pretty much drinking and watching football. If anyone asks, he's totally old enough and Shinji clearly doesn't give a shit.

Locke sets the drink back down on the table. "Nothing wrong with that either. That's my plan too, honestly. Too much hassle, having a quiet night seems nice."

[lyrids]

Misora smiles and hums in agreement. There's a pensive note in her voice as she replies, "Yeah, it can be."

[returnher]

If Locke notices she seems pensive, he doesn't make any particular indication, but his smile might be a shade warmer than before.

"Did you want the TV? I'm pretty much killing time so it's all yours."

[lyrids]

Misora seems to take a moment to ponder Locke's words before shaking her head again. "I'm okay, thank you. There's nothing I really feel like watching."

[returnher]

"Suit yourself. Snacks are fair game, we've got plenty. Especially if you're the only one here that likes carrots."

[lyrids]

"I don't... mind them...?" Misora responds haltingly, taking the cue to wander over to examine the snacks. After a moment's consideration, she takes a handful of chips and begins munching on them, glancing toward the TV as she does so.

She doesn't know the first thing about American football, but it's... certainly a spectacle.

Locke gets back to watching the show, occasionally exclaiming, loudly, that something is bullshit.
