The Eagles are screeching

The 76 Eagles were still milling around, but in the last few days, they were appearing in pairs, and instead of passively staring at people, they started to approach people walking alone - minorities mainly - and started to ask questions, most people they talked to start to back off, especially as the militia members start to pat suspicious bulges on their hips and chest.

Getting in earshot, or having one approached you quickly reveal the fact that the questions where a mish-mash asking the legality of the person’s presence in the united states or if they had anything to do with the Phantom Thieves.

They’re careful not to actually touch anyone, but the tone of their voice, the patting of their concealed weapons, the slight smirk that appears when they successfully spooked someone, and their aggressive stance made it clear they hold no good will towards the unfortunate target of their attention.

Usually, Augustine would have passed through the sidewalks peacefully. Instead, he found some businessmen being interviewed by a person wearing a biker-style vest. If he can remember, he was one of those 76 Eagles that were in the news lately.

He is curious at what they are talking about, not to mention he is worried regarding their mission to bring freedom to the country. Without making himself stand out, he quietly sat on one of the tables outside of a cafe and started eavesdrop on the conversation.

"I sw-swear, I don't a thing about those thieves..." The businessman - an asian man stammered briefly as he tries to step aside, but was blocked.

"How can we be sure that you're telling the truth?" The taller of the two eagles questioned, before smirking while stepping aside, patting his concealed weapon before they turned their attentions to a petite woman, squaring off to block the sidewalk.

Upon he heard their conversation, Augustine grew grim at what one of the two Eagles just said to him. It makes it more suspicious regarding their movements against the businessmen. In any case, it is enough to make him get out of his seat and confront them.

"Excuse me, but I was hoping to know what you were talking about with that man." He doesn't know if that stops them from still going to the woman, but it is enough to learn more about these people and the 76 Eagles themselves.

Nemesis is small, suited for the task of people-watching. People tend to not pay attention to a child on the streets, so about all she can do is watch. But it's convenient, isn't it? People-watching for this kind of thing. For now, observe and hope nothing happens to flare her temper.

An unmarked black van pulls up as Nemesis watches, and from the passenger side was came a well-built man wearing camo and black stripes under his eyes - that caused the two members to immediately snap to attention. They spoke low enough that it was difficult to discern, but given the way they interacted, it was clear the new man was their superior, or even the leader.

Oh boy, she's paying attention as subtly as she can. Hopefully a glance his way is seen more as a "this person sure is dressed like he's actually in the service" than anything else right now.

"Excuse you?" The broader - to put it politely - of the two whirled onto Sycamore, giving him the stink eye. "So you interest in dealing with the thieves properly?" The man asked, as the pair give him a look over, letting the woman go.

Well, this is not what he was expecting, but at least he is able to learn more about the Militia itself. But not wanting to be like that businessman from earlier, he decided to pretend that he is interested in their mission.

"You could say that. I heard about them on the news and I was surprised by the events regarding them and the Inquisitors. Though I can't say if they are criminals or not, I might be interested in your mission."

They were speaking quietly, making it difficult to exactly tell what they're actually saying but a few words can be heard - but enough to gleam that while they were mostly interrogating, one of them had been snapping pictures of a few people they stopped.

The leader nods, seeming satisfied by what they said before gesturing and with a snap salute, the pair trots off further down the block, while the man scans the area, rocking slightly on his heels as he fiddles with the watch on his wrist.

The two glance at each other, while the thinner of the two steps forward. "What are you feelings about our rights to defend our selves?" He quizzed, their eyes trained on his body language.

Naomi is going to pull out her phone to make it seem like she's maybe waiting for someone, or just checking her messages. But really, she's trying to pay attention to him. The way he's standing, it's like he's waiting for something.

And waiting it was, as about five minutes later, a police officer in uniform exits out of the corner dinner and down towards the squad car parked at a meter. It looked like they were just brushing by, but with Naomi's position - and if she got the phone's camera open to give a better view - the cop brushes quite close to the man, and something was passed between them before they continued on.

Oh, she is definitely making note of that. Any chance she could have snapped a pic if she had flash off and not get caught? Because if she can get any idea what was passed, she feels that's important. ...She's also gonna move her hands like she's playing a game, not moving her camera. Seem busy and not like a spy.

That might be very tough to answer. He already knew what his answer was, but given this Militia is vastly different in terms of their ideals and missions, he knew that there is a chance that he made an enemy before the Metaverse Nav app can respond.

"That depends on what kind of situation we're in. But in my opinion, it might pose the risk of taking advantage of that right to abuse anyone even if they are not an attacker. But like I said, it depends on every person."

He hopes that answer might be logical, but again, he had a feeling that this might not bode well unless they let him go without any warning.

It's possible if she's fast enough to snap a picture of the hand off. Whether she takes the shot or not, not longer after it happened, the man returned to the van and drive off.

She is gonna take the shot. What's she get in the pic? She's probably not gonna stick around too much longer, though. Too risky.

When she checks later, it looks like a list of names or initials and a list of departments, some with checkmarks or Xes against them.

One of the unmarked names was just a set of initials: K.K - Vice.

Noted. Okay, she's gonna try to leave, at least trying to make it look like she's given up on waiting for whoever she was waiting for, or they've given her a message they won't be coming. She's going to have to share this with everyone.
