The Army of Gluttony - Mission Start

The air around the camp was cold, seemingly a reflection of reality judging by occasional shivers of the smaller "soldiers". The perimeter was well guarded, it would need be breached before a calling card could be sent and the treasure stolen. As team one enters, team two waits in the wings to challenge the shadow if necessary and steal the treasure.

[This event will be split into two parts - the first part, beginning now, will include the infiltration of the general Palace and securing a route to the treasure. The participants will be:

Infiltrators:
Sinbad
Naomi
Sonia
Cyan

Please include a list of Persona you are bringing into the Palace.

The boss battle will be posted around April 15th. Sign-ups are still open for the boss battle, and can be posted here. There may be multiple boss logs should there be enough sign-ups]

Larger soldiers patrol in regular patterns around the camp dressed in the cross and chainmail regalia of a medieval Crusader. Though they seem reasonably relaxed, your Phantom Thief garb has materialized, meaning they are on alert for some reason. The main pavillion rests in the center, you have but to get there. Easy, right?

[Stan's eyes go wide with surprise at the sight of it all. He's only ever gone into Mementos. This is a whole other ball game.]

Holy sh-

[He cuts off the profanity right there, though, noting the relative young age of his compatriots.

...Shinola. You kids sure you know what you're doing?

Of course, the culprits had to be related to that Flock charity. Yet he never expect that their Palace resembled something so awful. This makes him feel sorry for May and the other children.

"Yeah. We've been gone through this the last time, so I think we're good." He said to Stan with confidence as he tightened his gloves. "But don't worry. At least this time, we have an Operator."

"You can say 'shit', we hear far worse everyday." Tempest stated as he puts his hand behind his neck, cracking it before he scans it. "This feels kind of like a maze with all the tents... I'm thinking some of those are unoccupied, we can duck into them if we need to." The young man suggested.

As the thieves are assessing, a group of soldiers turns and begins marching in their general direction. While they aren't on top of you yet, they soon will be.

[This is not the sort of welcome he was expecting - from any angle.]

Heh... yeah. Operator. That's me, all right.

[He glances to Tempest shortly after.]

You kiss your mother with that mouth, kid?

[But then the army is on the move, and he hunches down to whisper.]

Later. Looks like the Jesus freaks are on the move.

[Nodding to the others, he clenches a fist and calls out for his Persona, which takes the form of a fancy hologram projector that's currently displaying a terrifying giant green head. There's a small curtain below all the fancy gizmos, and a couple of squeaky wheels turning at the very bottom for the sharp-eyed among the group.]

Let's see what you kids can do.

He rolls his eyes at Mr. Mystery before the patrol started to head their way. "Keep an eye out - we have to try to keep our presence as quiet as possible until we find a path in." Tempest stated as he quickly scans the area. "Can you tell where's the nearest empty tents - we'll duck in, and come out when they pass, otherwise someone plays distraction and lure them out of their route."

While he is okay with those words, Cyan isn't the type of dirty his own mouth. So he rather not to say those words for his own sake.

As for the Shadows marching to their direction, Cyan smiled as he said, "Don't worry, leave them to me."

He then walks forward and removes his white visor mask, releasing his humanoid eagle Persona as he appears behind him. "Manaul, why don't you scare these soldiers with your Evil Touch?"

His Persona obeyed him as he fired a black beam to one of the Shadows.

She may not have spoken up yet, but Roll is here, and she'll be happy to show the old man exactly what she can do. For now, however, she simply stands at the ready behind Cyan; she's prepared to back him up, but isn't going to make any moves of her own just yet.

Cyan's attack strikes true, hitting the shadow whose helmet-like mask falls to the ground as it explodes into a small white-and-blue creature - a Jack Frost. It immediately begins cowering from fear, not advancing but not retreating.

[Mr. Mystery disappears behind the curtain as his Persona forms around him, the green head's eyes lighting up as it scans the Jack Frost in front of them. Moments later, his voice emerges from thin air to offer some combat advice.]

So, uh... use fire. I mean, we're only dealing with a walking ice cream cone here.

[Well, he was thinking out straight up stealth, but now they'll have to get rid of the Jack Frost before it can alert the camp]

Zio!

[The persona - blue-skinned merperson riding on top of a snake eating it's tail, with rainbow butterfly wings coming from the side of it's head appears, lifting a clawed hand to summon a small bolt of electricity]

Upon seeing the Jack Frost emerging from the soldier, Cyan just stared at it in disbelief. While it is looking less of a threat, he might as well try to eliminate it. Who knows what happen if they leave it alone.

"Garu!"

Manual then uses his wings to create a small wind to the ice Shadow.

"So none of us actually have fire, huh?"

Well, so it goes. Roll jumps in place, summoning Lyra as she does so, and with a stroke of the guitar-like Persona's strings sends a Shock Note flying at the Jack Frost.

Fire or no, the onslaught of attacks leaves the Jack Frost well and thoroughly cooked as it dissolves into smoke.

The way forward is clear, at least for now, with the main camp about fifty feet from the current location.

With the Shadow defeated, Engkanto sighed in relief that a small threat is eliminated.

"Fire or no fire, I think we can manage. We should continue as planned."

He then stealthily walks to their destination while trying not to make a sound.

Themis is following quietly. She's clearly very bothered by this place.

"...It didn't attack us. It was afraid."

She's just going to put that out there while they infiltrate.

"Right, I think that big tent is our target." He calls out as he starts out ahead, a hand resting on the sword at his hip. At Naomi's remark, he slows, expression softening.

"Yeah, it's probably reflecting off the kids, but we have to be careful not to raise the alarm."

What'd you wanna do, adopt it? We'd be drowning in those things if it went off to tell its friends.

[Nope. No sympathy for demons.]

All right, let's see what we can see. Whaddaya got for me, Mr. Wizard?

[Once again, the spectral image's eyes light up as it begins to scan for the safe zones.]

Mr. Mystery detects a tent near the large pavilion where the boundary between the Palace and Reality are quite weak that may serve as a safe room. In the pavilion itself, he detects two shadows of immense power, surrounded by a group of more elite shadows than those patrolling the outer parameter.

He also feels like someone else is watching him, but cannot get a good bead on them.

So... I got good news and bad news. The good news is, that tent over there is safe. The bad news is, pretty much everything past it is basically the exact opposite.

[There's a short pause here as the green head rotates 360 degrees in place, as if looking for something else.]

And the really bad news is, someone's watching us, but I can't tell who or from where. So, yeah. Might be a little screwed here.

"Thanks for the heads up..."

Engkanto frowned at Mr. Mystery's news. He really wants to get in the tent and find a way to the Treasure, but he can't risk the team to be ambushed by someone stalking them.

"Any ideas how to proceed then? Cause most of my ideas have big risks of us getting caught. And I don't want that."

"Any idea if our voyeur's hostile?" Tempest questioned, it's safe to assume so.

"The idea that comes to mind is one of us acts as bait, and lure the patrol away, letting the others get in close."

There is no indication that the observers are hostile at this moment, Mr. Mystery at least does not detect any hostility.

Doesn't feel like it. At least not yet.

[He turns to Tempest.]

Well, don't look at me. This thing can't exactly fight back if the plan backfires.

Mr. Mystery's scan might be vague, but at least he knows what their next move is.

"I might lure it away since my Persona can inflict fear and such, but it might be very risky..."
