Naomi had gone in to the palace to take a quick look around. She wasn't sure what she expected, but what she saw made her blood boil. The way the child Shadows were treated hit close to home, even if she'd never experienced it personally. She'd immediately left after seeing one of them tossed in a pit.

Outside, she'd returned to the safe house and begun to just pace angrily, making clawing motions with her hand--she needs to put the anger somewhere. If she doesn't find an outlet soon, she might end up destroying something. Naomi was never good with dealing with her emotions, and this just makes her too angry for her to honestly handle.

Someone might want to grab her and calm her down before she actually wrecks something.

Elias had rarely come to the safe house; he liked to be at home with his computer and his animals. It was nice to have the quiet. However, to be a part of a group, he supposed he should make an attempt to foster...something with them. That is when he noticed a particularly angry girl coming in, tilting his head.

"Don't you think you should calm down...? Getting so destructively angry will not change the situation..."

[zangenasai]

"I need to do something. This is... It hits too close."

She's a foster child. If she'd been unlucky, she could be one of those kids. That alone makes her blood boil. But to see their treatment...

"I am going to assume you are speaking about our recent...acquaintance." Elias chooses his words carefully, just out of preference, "As someone who is adopted and has limited memories of their past, I promise you, I find myself angry as well."

A pause. He could feel his anger welling up, but it wasn't showing on his face.

"I want to concentrate on how I can change the situation for them..."

[zangenasai]

"It could have been me--us."

And that's really the worst part, isn't it? Knowing she'd dodged a bullet. But those kids hadn't. She's lucky.

"I know I can help them. But knowing that they've been hurt... I can't undo what's happened to them."

Elias thought for a moment, considering her words. It wasn't that he disagreed, but he had a hard time empathizing. That was probably because he was often more focused on the issues he had dealt with, and avoiding allowing others to fall victim. That was similar to what this girl was feeling, correct?

"I can understand, however, the past is...in the past. It can be frustrating, to see those people who are similar to you fall into a horrible situation, but the best thing to do is to save their future."

"Hey, you OK?"

Locke knows that look pretty well. He also knows what it usually leads too.

"...I took a look."

At the Palace. She'd already shared her fears about her violent temper before with him, so. Maybe he can figure out what might be angering her.

"Well yeah, so did I but I'm not lookin' to fly off the handle just yet. Bit personal?"

[zangenasai]

"...I'm in foster care."

She was "lucky." Unwanted, but "lucky." Because she at least didn't end up there. She's just. Going to continue to pace. She hasn't escalated yet.

"Ah. Yeah these guys are not great examples of the system."
