A Palace Revealed - Parade of Envy
As the Keywords are entered into the Metaverse Nav, the world seems to lurch and spin around the UCLA campus as it begins to distort and twist. The buildings of the campus itself is still there, but what is not decidedly different are the streets, paths and boulevards that control access to the various buildings.
Throngs of shadows line the sidewalks while massive tanks roll through draped in military regalia. All across campus, banners are hung in blood red depicting images of poorly drawn cartoon frogs, roman Eagles, swastikas, and iron crosses. The flags flying from the campus flag poles are those of the Confederacy, a snake with the words "Don't Tread On Me" emblazoned upon it, and, under those two, the American Flag. Shadows shaped like soldiers march in step alongside the rumbling tanks which seem to form themselves a maze so dense as to make up the true area of the Palace.
And from the heart of campus but broadcast throughout, the Shadow of Todd Woodrow Jr. extols the virtues of the white race and the deceptiveness, lies, and lack of drive inherent in all minorities.
[OOC: Congratulations! You have cleared the core objectives for January.
Since there is currently no pressing deadline to steal his heart, the Phantom Thieves will proceed with their standard reconnaissance procedure. For the duration of the month, Phantom Thieves can enter the Palace in small groups and scope out the Palace, trying to find weaknesses and areas of attack for the final operation. While reconnaissance is optional, taking part in it will dramatically increase the potential for success and greater reward within the Palace Infiltration in February.
Players are encouraged to conduct player plots. You may either use the Current Event post or make your own posts in the OOC comm to plan and assemble groups, or even discuss them ICly within the IC comm itself. While escalations will continue toward the final Palace deadline being unveiled at the end of the month, the rest of January should continue as a free period where Player Plots can be organized and run.
Sign-ups for the Palace infiltration will begin on January 22nd. The Palace Infiltration will begin February 1st.]
